Jigsaw puzzle (a design process metaphor)

On how to approach design problems.

  1. Start with the edges (aka identify the boundaries and constraints)
  2. Rough in the obvious landmarks (aka the buildings, objects, that are easy to identify)
  3. 80% of the image is typically the nuanced part (hard to identify, subtle differences that only really come together through persistent guess and check and small/scale validations)
